Despite a fortunate lack of tornado touchdowns, Sunday’s storm still managed to wreak havoc across much of the area, with 70 mph winds, golf ball-sized hail and sheets of rain leading to power outages, flash flooding and innumerable downed trees and wires.

In Chapmanville, officials went out to examine the damage to trees and structures in the area and try to figure out what happened.
